Adding Scopes

The Scopes Administration screen enables the user to create, edit and delete Scopes for the organisation.
  • To access the Scopes Screen
HOME / ADMINISTRATION / SCOPES

Create Scope
To add new scope, click the Create Scope button, a blank pop up will appear for the user to enter pertinent details.

Scope
Serial Number
 - unique code and will be used for reporting on Scope Usage
Description - generally local scope identifier to enable easy selection from pick list during procedure report writing
Manufacturer - detail of scope manufacturer
Type - select corresponding scope type from drop down list e.g. Colonoscope
Sub Type - Not applicable
Barcode - usually same as Serial Number

Sites
Select the site(s) at which the scope is to be used

Procedure Types
Select all procedures the scope will be used in, e.g. a Colonoscope may be used in either a Colonoscopy or Flexible Sigmoidoscopy procedure, so both will need to be selected.
Failure to select the correct procedures will result in the scope not being able to be selected during procedure report writing (see In Room)

The Description field within scopes is now mandatory. Scopes will appear on the In Room screen using their Description. If the Description is blank EMS will show "SN:" " followed by the serial number, e.g. "SN: 1233232323"

Note: consideration must be taken when considering the nomenclature of the descriptions used. Paying particular attention if scopes are 'loaned' to other sites within a multi-site organisation.

The Deleted Scopes checkbox - this will show any scopes that have been deactivated from the system and not available for selection.
