Adding Staff

The Staff Administration screen enables the user to create, edit and delete Staff for the organisation. 
  • To access the Staff Screen

Create Staff
To add new staff, click the Create Staff button, a blank pop up will appear for the user to enter pertinent details. 


 

Staff Details
  • Title, Given and Family Name - these details will be displayed throughout the system and used in any correspondence produced, e.g. Procedure Report
  • Email - this detail will be be used in any correspondence produced (Optional)
  • GMC / NMC - essential for those staff who will be classed as Endoscopists. In some cases, if there is an interface with the organisation's Patient Information System, it is essential that the correct number is entered
  • Job Title - will be used on correspondence when appropriate
  • Qualifications - will be used on correspondence when appropriate (Optional)
  • Procedure Role - role to be assigned to staff who participate during a procedure, e.g. Endoscopist or Nurse. It is possible for a role not to be assigned, e.g. Booking Clerk who will not be present during a procedure. 
System Access
  • Roles - the Roles (or permissions) assigned to staff which determines the available functionality, e.g. Endoscopist is assigned to those who will perform endoscopy procedures (Roles)
  • Sites - the Sites assigned to staff to enable access to appropriate data. Relates to multi-site organisations. 
Login Credentials

Authentication Type - EMS or AD

The staff profile may be linked to the organisation's Active Directory (AD) credentials or create an EMS local account. 
AD - only enter user's network username. Password changes reflect local IT policy
EMS - create local user name and password. Site Administrator's will have the ability to reset passwords

Note: Only completed for staff who will be actively using the system

Technical Ability

If a procedure role of Endoscopist or related variants has been selected for the user, the Technical Ability tab appears. This relates to the specific Diagnostic and Therapeutic ability to be attributed to the user. These settings are used when it comes to scheduling appointments as a search to find suitable slots for the procedure that is required. 

 

Click the Procedure drop-down and select a procedure. Check to confirm the ability to preform diagnostic procedures and then select the appropriate therapeutic procedures. Click OK to confirm any changes, Cancel to ignore them. Repeat for all appropriate procedures required for the user.
