Image Capture Setup Guide

OVERVIEW
The MEDILOGIK EMS system provides a complete reporting solution for endoscopy units. When the system is purchased, MEDILOGIK also provide an Image Capture Device (ICD) that takes a copy of the live video signal from the processor and passes it to the PC for use during a procedure. Images may be captured in a number of ways depending on your local installation.

- Triggered via the buttons on the scope
- Triggered via a foot pedal

During an installation the scope buttons will be set to use options Freeze and Release to hold and trigger the image. To capture images within EMS, the users must see the live feed on the "Images" tab within a procedure. If you cannot see the live feed then images will not be captured. The following information relates to the hardware and its set up. if you experience any issues with the image capture please refer to the FAQ section. If you are unable to resolve the issue please contact the MEDILOGIK Support Desk.

HARDWARE
There are currently two version of MEDILOGIK's image capture device.

[Standard definition]
These devices have a serial number starting: 5xxxxx or 6xxxx

[High definition]
These devices have a serial number starting: 7xxxx

CONNECTIONS
There are a number of cables and connections that may be used to set up your image capture equipment. The lengths of cables will vary but the image below describes the type of connections that are typically used. If you find part of the cable or connections damaged this will interfere in your ability to see the video feed or trigger images.

BNC Connections are a push and twist connection. The two small pins are lined up and locked in place.
Pentax Trigger - This connection is a push fit.
Olympus Trigger - This connection has two spring clips at the side of the plug. These must be pinched when connecting or disconnecting.

Image Capture Setup Guides
The typical set up of the ICD relies on two outputs from the processor and a connection to a PC, below you will find setup guides that will help you configure image capture.

 Processor  Document
 Olympus 260  Olympus 260 Setup Guide.V1.0.pdf
 Olympus 290  Olympus 290 Setup Guide.V2.0.pdf
 Pentax  Pentax Setup Guide.v1.0.pdf

There are two thick BNC cables that connect the ICD to the processor. The connection for the processor will depend on the model being used, See the Connections section above. There is a USB cable that connects the ICD to the computer.

It is imperative that all connections are secure to make sure that the video feed works correctly.
